Karzai faces struggle to oust contractors
Afghan President Hamid Karzai wants foreign mercenaries phased out by the year's end as he claims they are "corrupt and impeding national development". While his proposal will likely be welcomed by a resentful Afghan public, it will face strong opposition from Washington and the military.
